MERCY CHINWO BIOGRAPHY, PERSONAL LIFE AND CAREER
‘The Cross My Gaze’ was such a groundbreaking debut album that many songs off it have retained airplay, while remaining mainstays in churches and on private playlists across the globe to this day.
Her next album, ‘Satisfied,’ enjoyed even more success, cementing her place amongst the most-inspirational, most-sought artistes in Nigeria — and not just in the gospel music category. Pulse, Nigeria’s foremost digital media company ranked her top five amongst the best music performers in the country, attesting to her crossover appeal beyond gospel music circles.
Famous for her love of colourful berets, Mercy Chinwo-Blessed has performed on the biggest stages such as The Experience, Night Of Worship [NOW], RCCG’s annual Marathon Praise, and Dunamis Int’l Christian Center, to name a few. There have been outstanding collaborations with artistes like Moses Bliss, JJ Hairston, Banky W, and the iconic Chioma Jesus. She has also been credited with national and international awards such as Africa Gospel Awards Festival 2019 [Song of The Year: ‘Excess Love’] and Galaxy Music Awards 2019 [Gospel Artiste of The Year], among others.
In 2022, she and Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa of the Westbrook Church, Lagos, tied the knot in a beautiful, love-filled ceremony.
